THE NEW NIKE VAPOR UNTOUCHABLE PRO 3 REVIEW
The nike vapor football cleats has a synthetic and mesh upper design that provides support durability and breathability but the interesting thing with the shoe is there is no tongue instead there’s a one-piece knit bootie that wraps your foot for a glove like or even a sock like fit that way your ankle has lots of room for movement while still keeping your foot firmly in place this cleat also has a carbon fiber plate that provides unbelievable traction speed and performance so that you can stop on a dime change direction or do whatever you need to do on the field.
Traction – How Well It Grips The Ground
This is the exact same traction plate as last year’s model, they’re the exact same traction plate and it’s made out of a carbon fiber which offers a very lightweight, very springy at very strong base and it gives you a little spring with each step, this traction play has always been a very good traction play. it’s one of the best for me personally. I’ve had no problems slipping or anything, it works very well on both grass and turf and for that reason I rate the traction plate and the traction itself a solid 5 out of 5.
The Ventilation – How Well Your Foot Can Breathe
The next thing I’d like to review is the ventilation of the cleat, how well does it breathe, how well can your foot breathe, does your foot get too hot while you’re playing especially on hot days or on turf fields where the heat gets really up there you want to be able to have your foot breathe and cool down.
There’s no visible ventilation holes on the side of cleats. The ventilation seems to be very good due to the thin sock like tongue and small little ventilation holes on the side, so the ventilation should be good. The little dashes which could offer a little bit of ventilation but they don’t look super ventilated and the only other ventilation is the tongue, which is very thin, it’s kind of dark, it’s a very thin tongue, a very sock like.
I think it is very good and it ventilates pretty well, I haven’t had them on a very extensive time period but when I did have them on my feet, it didn’t get you hot, so I think this thin tongue slash sock liner is very ventilated so I’m going to give them a four out of five for ventilation.
The Fit Of The Cleat – How Well It Fits To Your Foot And The Cushioning
Nike Vapor Untouchable Pro 3 offer a really good system that really helps secure the cleat to your foot. Something new on this cleat is the ankle collar, it is a mesh knit and it’s very stretchy elastic, it offers a little bit of ankle support and it just feels like a sock as well as add some comfort, pretty much over the last year’s model.
I had no trouble putting these cleats on before games and even practices and it was really easy for me to get it on. The another new thing added that was not on last year’s model is the heel padding, which makes this cleat slips on really really quick and I really like the addition of new sock.
Something I really like about the Nike Vapor Untouchable Pro 3 is the heel cup, which provides you a lockdown fit, your heel will not slip back when you use it. it’s very comfortable it felt really good on the back of my foot and it provides a lot of support for the back you know your heel and your Achilles and it provides a really good purpose. The Achilles cushioning was pretty minimal and there was a little bit of slippage, I rate the fit a 5 out of 5 as well
The Colors Of The Cleats
The next thing I’d like to review is the colors of the cleats. This football cleat features a gradient it goes from orange to white and it has a very sparkly swoosh on the front, and a black swoosh on the inside, and this particular pair features an iridium traction plate which most of them do not have. most of the cleats do feature a color gradient as from one color to another. Most of them are from color to white or color to black, so they have every color you can think of.
it’ll match any team and I think the gradient offers a very clean look especially if you’re wearing white socks. it also offers the team color and it kind of fade into a white look. I think that would look very clean on the field and it’s a very clean looking.
This a 5 out of 5 for colors.
A couple things I’m worrying about durability.
The heel tab does not look like gonna tear off, the only thing I’m kind of worried about is the traction plate. so these things are glued on this plate itself, it is glued. you can kind of see where it separates from the cleat itself and last year’s model had some problems in my opinion.
The fly wire is inside so it can’t tear. Nike put the fly wire within the cleat, which i think is really good for football, because you know other people’s pleats come through and they catch it and they rip it, so if the fly wire ripping, it should not be a problem.
The only problem I can see occurring is these traction plates coming off or coming loose. but I think these cleats should be able to last a whole season, depending on what surface did you play on and how hard you play. I think you could probably stretch it to. they’re very durable cleats and I think they’re much more durable than last year’s model
I’m going to rate the durability a 4 to 5 only because I’m worrying about the traction play coming off.
What Positions Would Use This Cleat?
This cleat is in the vapor line from Nike which means it’s for the fastest players in the football game. it’s a low-cut cleat and if you look at the plate on the bottom they have the diamond studs, so this is still going to give you a multi-directional traction and it’s still going to propel you forward with the diamond studs on the plate.
Nike Vapor Untouchable Pro 3 is a skill position cleat. it would be great for quarterbacks (QB), running backs(RB), wide receivers, defensive backs, maybe a speed linebacker or a you know a vertical threat tight end, a faster player. But this basically just mean for skill position players, so anybody who runs a lot and runs fast this cleats is for you.
- The ankle collar is a new addition that was really good
- The traction plate same as last year’s, good on both turf and grass
- Very durable cleat with very strong materials
- The color options are endless, it’ll match any team color and you can get them in a nice cool gradient look
The last thing I’d like to review is the pricing of the cleat, how much does it retail for, is it worth your money. This cleat goes for $120, you can get them on Eastbay from $90, a little bit cheaper. You also can get them in any color for only $120 which is an improvement because the model last year’s were $130, so it’s ten bucks cheaper, very good economic option.
Overall this mens football cleats has everything that you could possibly need, it’s a good price offers good durability, good traction, and great ventilation and it’s just a lot of cool Nike tech that you got to have. This is an awesome cleat and I recommend Nike Vapor Untouchable Pro 3 to any skill position player and I think that’s gonna conclude my review.
